Chopard
The Swiss company Chopard, also known as Chopard, produces and sells high-end accessories, jewelry, and watches. It was founded by Louis-Ulysse Chopard Sonvilier, Switzerland, in 1860. Since 1963, the Scheufele family of Germany has controlled Chopard. The current owner of the company is the daughter of Karl & Karin Scheufele.
Caroline Scheufele, born in Pforzheim, Germany, is a German business woman. She is the artistic director and co-president of Chopard, the Swiss-based luxury watches and jewellery manufacturer.[6] She is the daughter of Karl and Karin Scheufele, German entrepreneurs who purchased the company in 1963. During the 1980s, Scheufele expanded the business into the jewelry sector.
Chopard has concentrated on creating sustainable and ethical jewelry in more recent years. The company became a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council in 2010. Three years later, Chopard produced the first watch ever to be made of Fairmined gold. This was widely praised by the critics at Baselworld. The company's promise to employ only 100% ethically sourced gold in the creation of its jewelry is its most recent ethical breakthrough.
