Faberge House
Faberge is a Russian Company that was founded by Gustavo Faberge in 1842 in the city of Saint Petersburg.. The company was known for producing a variety of high-end, intricately detailed works of art, including enormous Fabergé eggs for the Russian Tsars covered in jewels. Alexander and Eugène Fabergé, who were Peter Carl's sons, founded Fabergé & Cie in Paris, France, in 1924. They produced comparable jewelry pieces and customized their company's seal by adding the name of the city.
Amongst Fabergé's more popular creations were the miniature hardstone carvings of people, animals and flowers carved from semi-precious or hardstones and embellished with precious metals and stones. The most common animal carvings were elephants and pigs but included custom made miniatures of pets of the British Royal family and other notables.

Publications and significant exhibitions, including those at the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1994 and the Royal Collection in 2003–2004, helped to preserve Fabergé's image as a manufacturer of the greatest caliber. Russian collectors attempted to repatriate many of Fabergé's creations after the fall of the Soviet Union and the rise of the oligarchs, and auction prices rose to all-time highs. The Rothschild Fabergé Egg was sold at auction for £8.98 million on November 27, 2007, at Christie's in London. The Rothschild Fabergé egg set records for being purchased for a piece of Fabergé, as well as being the most money ever spent for a Russian product and a clock.
